VV Berkum is a football (soccer) club founded in 1961. Located in Zwolle, the capital city of the Overijssel providence, the club has seen expansive growth since its humble start over 50 years ago. The club also takes pride in having a social leadership role within the community. Under a program called “Berkam United”, VV Berkum offers children and adolescents with ASS, or other behavioral disabilities who cannot play on regular team, the ability to play football and to train at a regular football club. Additionally, Berkum has taken a proactive approach as an organization towards sustainability initiatives- even being awarded the 2015 ‘Sustainable Association of the Year’ in Zwolle.
As an organization that is committed to corporate responsibility socially and environmentally, we choose to work with clients that share this mentality. We believe that every businesses possesses the ability to be a force of positive impact within their individual community, and across the globe. VV Berkum is an organization that is doing just that.
For this project we worked with our Netherlands installation partner, Sallandse United. This knowledgeable and experienced team has done some excellent work with us in the past, and continued to do so in this project by laying out synthetic turf expertly. The surface is extremely durable to withstand the most intense use-perfect for the well over 1,000 members of the VV Berkum facility.
The field was installed early this month, with a final inspection on August 18th where it was approved for competition play.
