Leader in synthetic turf technology, ACT Global Sports has been selected as the provider of hockey surfacing for the 2010 Asian Games hosted in Guangzhou, PRC from November 12th – 27th. The 16th annual Asian Games boasts 45 countries and 10,156 athletes competing in a variety of sports, with field hockey as one of the most prestigious and eagerly anticipated tournaments. The field hockey events feature many teams with high FIH ranking, in both the men’s and women’s competition.
A total of four full size hockey pitches have been installed at the Guangzhou Olympic Hockey Stadium Complex, including two competition pitches which have been field tested and approved for interntional hockey tournament use.
ACT Global Sports’ Xtreme Turf and ACTurf hockey products comply with the FIH strict performance requirements, for international and national hockey competitions.

The Asian Games further honored Mr. Clapham by inviting him to carry the Asian Games Torch during its relay. This was a rare experience for a foreigner.
