Team Feature: US Sales Team

This week we’ve been lucky enough several visitors come to our headquarters in Austin, Texas. The Act Global US sales team has been in office and has had a busy past few days filled with learning opportunities, group challenges, and exploring the Austin nightlife. The Act Global corporate office has been lit up with many moments of laughter and lively conversations as the majority of our US team is together.

We are so thankful for each of the fun personalities of our sales team and for the hard work they continuously put in to bring better sports fields to schools, communities, and stadiums. Having the team together has been such a joy and we can’t wait for the next time.

Preseason: The Return of Professional Football

Professional football has officially returned to us with the first preseason game scheduled for tomorrow. We’re excited to get back to cheering on our favorite teams after the long hiatus following the draft back in April and can’t wait for all 32 teams to hit the field next week. The teams are about to be thrown back into competition to test their rookies, dwindle down their player count, and benchmark how well the first few weeks of training camps have gone. Starting August 7th stadiums across the country will begin filling up with fans eager to watch their teams at these August exhibition games before the regular season commences September 6th.

Get updated on some of our favorite teams so that you’re ready to watch every game:

Xtreme Turf DX60 Successfully Installed at Kamuzu Stadium, Malawi

Famous football stadium replaces its existing,ten-year-old Act Global artificial turf field with the world-renowned Xtreme Turf DX60 football turf system.

The original turf was installed by Act Global in 2008 as part of the FIFA GOAL Programme and has been used for national and international competition matches, including World Cup qualifiers. The stadium is currently home to the Nyasa Big Bullets, a top Malawian football club. When the decision was made to replace and upgrade the existing football turf surface, the durability and performance of the original turf, the proven track record of Xtreme Turf DX60 and the fact that Act Global has succeeded in delivering FIFA Certified fields in Malawi (FIFA Technical Centre Blantyre, FIFA Certified 2015), and in neighboring Tanzania at the Karume Memorial Stadium in Mwanza (FIFA Certified March 2017) were all key factors in the selection process

Our longstanding partnership with Afriturf should not go without serious mention, a company that has worked with Act Global to deliver 12 FIFA Certified football turf fields in Africa, sometimes in remote and challenging locations, and shares our vision to bring the absolute best materials to the African continent, creating football fields that meet the highest international standards. This type of long-term partnership adds great value to the client, having regionally stationed experts in all aspects of football turf field construction as well as having locally appointed project managers to attend to every detail of project implementation. Having a trusted longstanding local partner means our turf is handled and treated in the correct way ensuring the finished field is in top condition

Act Global, Managing Director – Chris Clapham, writes that “Our company installed the first Xtreme Turf pitch at this famous stadium 10 years ago.  We are very proud to be chosen to replace the pitch with our latest turf technology, and continuing our support for football at all levels in Malawi.”

The field was completed on 28th June 2018 and will be field tested to FIFA Quality Pro standard in September 2018.

Field Feature Friday: Transforming Tennis Courts With Xtreme Turf

SEARA Sports brings Xtreme Turf to Chiang Mai’s luxury resort, Fours Seasons.

The large northern Thailand city of Chiang Mai offers a rich cultural history dating back to 1294 and is a popular destination for Thailand’s exploding tourism. The city faces an intense climate with year-round heat and volatile rainfall ranging up to 20 rainy days per month.

With such high rates of tourism each year, it is important for the infrastructure within the country to be sound to accommodate the millions of travelers. Many resorts, including Four Seasons Chiang Mai, offer sports and leisure amenities for guests. Tennis courts are popular with the resort’s demographic, but traditional courts are easily worn down from high-volume usage and harsh weather conditions. To combat this, the hotel selected Xtreme Turf’s specialized tennis synthetic turf system for consistency and durability. Xtreme Turf’s playability allows guests to utilize the court when wet, avoid cosmetic degradation that can result in injuries, and enjoy a surface that is more forgiving to the knees and hips compared to traditional clay courts.

This installation was possible through the effort of our international partner, Seara Sports. As a builder of sports facilities that meet strict international standards, Seara Sports constructs exceptional recreational amenities for properties within Southeast Asia. The Vietnam branch of the international powerhouse has expertly installed close to 40 Xtreme Turf tennis courts within the country. The team at SEARA is comprised of leaders in tennis court resurfacing in Thailand that has successfully serviced high-profile clients within the country for many years.
