The two-week countdown to Super Bowl LII is officially underway! Yesterday four teams competed in the championship-bound round which led to the New England Patriot’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Philadelphia Eagle’s win over the Minnesota Vikings. Now both teams have a bye week to train and prepare before heading to U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
New England is a powerhouse that has made regular appearances at the Super Bowl, making them the favorite of predictions from multiple sources. A win on February 4 by the Patriots would make the team the first back-to-back champion since 2003-2004, a record they themselves set. However, the Philadephia Eagles have proved themselves as a successful underdog throughout playoffs, even using the status as a motivator and joke with their fans. Philadelphia has pulled off repeat upsets over its past two opponents, making the team a serious competitor against New England. The most current prediction from Bleacher Report has the final score at New England 37, Philadelphia 30.
On February 4, fans from all corners of the country will come to fill the 70,000 seats at U.S. Bank Stadium for Super Bowl LII. As the premiere and most prominent game of the year, Act Global is proud to have the two best teams of the 2017 NFL season meet on our brand of turf. The synthetic turf system is a leading brand in the industry and trusted for its proven safety and durability under high impact sports. The surface combines science and technology with superior aesthetics to create the ultimate artificial grass system.

“Sport is a big social part of our community here in Prince George. Upgrades to Masich Place Stadium will help create a better facility for residential and out-of-town athletes.” Mike Morris, MLA for Prince George-Mackenzie
Located in the beautiful urban wilderness of Prince George, British Columbia lies the historic venue of track and field at the 1990 BC Summer Games. Masich Place Stadium is also home to the Prince George track and field club and serves as a training ground for athletes. In an effort by the city to revitalize the facility and boost sports tourism, the re-development program includes improvements that will allow Masich Place Stadium to be a competitive capital for both provincial and national events. In addition to exterior enhancements such as the painting of the grandstand structure and new landscaping, the stadium now features a new synthetic turf, multipurpose field.
“It will help ensure Prince George continues to have first-rate sporting facilities that make it an attractive place to live,” said Janine North, CEO, Northern Development.
The professional-quality, artificial grass field was manufactured by Act Global and skillfully installed by Carpell Surfaces. Chief installer Stéphane Ranger expertly placed the turf to ensure that the community of Prince George has a pristine pitch that serves it needs. The synthetic turf used to create the Masich Place Stadium’s new field has been specifically engineered for maximum player safety and performance. This has been proven through laboratory tests as well and benchmarks against top natural grass facilities.

The pathway to success for both the Saints and the Vikings has been paved with Act Global turf.
Yesterday the New Orleans Saints defeated the Carolina Panthers 31-26 in a thrilling home game win at Mercedes Benz Superdome. This was the last game of the Wild Card Round and a defining moment for the Saints as they move onto the playoffs.
The Saints will play the Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday in the NFC Divisional Round playoff game. It will be the first playoff meeting between the teams since New Orleans defeated Minnesota 31-28 in the 2009 NFC Championship game.
The Vikings are 7-1 at home this season, playing on Act Global branded turf. However, the Saints have had much success as well this year playing at home on the same brand. This gives a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘home field advantage’ and depending on the team’s playoff success this year, the Vikings could be the first team to play a Super Bowl in its home stadium.

Act Global recently had the opportunity to manufacture three soccer pitches in Santiago and Curico, Chile.
The new synthetic turf field for ANFA (Asociación Nacional de Fútbol Amateur) Luis Hernan Alvarez Stadium is part of an improvement project to upgrade the quality of amateur soccer facilities. The professional-quality pitch was part of the final phase of the project, meaning soon athletes will have access to the stadium’s top quality amenities, including Act Global’s artificial grass.
Santiago’s National Paralympic Stadium selected Act Global’s synthetic turf as the surface for both the main field and the mini-pitch within the facility. The proven safety and specifically engineered athlete-conscious components ensure that Act Global artificial grass protects players while remaining durable under intense use and climatic conditions.

Honolulu’s stunning and scenic stadium stands just feet away from ‘Aiea Bay on the island of O’ahu. The sports venue has been home to the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors football team since its opening in 1975 and has been home to several professional sports teams and hosted NCAA and NFL bowl games since the 1980s. Aloha Stadium continues to be a cornerstone of Hawaii events and entertainment as the largest stadium in the state.
“Our mission is to meet the challenge of providing a first-class arena where the dreams of our young people can be realized through participation in sporting and other special events; where the spirit of achievement can be nourished by the thrill of competition; where families can gather to share their cultural diversity with pride and a feeling of Aloha” –Aloha Stadium
In its 42 year history, the stadium has been through several expansions and improvements to continue to modernize the facility. The most notable improvement came in 2008 when the state of Hawaii approved a bill to refurbish the stadium, including retrofitting its scoreboard, replacing all seats, treating for rust, and adding additional luxury suites, parking lots, pedestrian bridge supports, and lounges. In July 2011, the field was replaced with an Act Global brand of synthetic sports turf for its exceptional strength and durability. This has been proven over the past seven seasons as the field continues to perform excellently and has retained its aesthetic value.
This Sunday, December 24th, The Fresno State Bulldogs (9-4) and Houston Cougars (7-4) will travel to Aloha Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii for their postseason matchup at 7:30 PM CST. Both teams arrived on the island earlier this week and have spent the past few days in their final practices and enjoying the island’s local culture.
