Lakeside High School is a public high school located in the quaint western Riverside town of Lake Elsinore, California. Lakeside is one of three high schools in the district. Students are taught the fundamental pillars of respect, integrity, scholarship, and effort, and how to apply these traits to “rise and lead”. This is an expectation of students both in academic and athletic settings, and one that the football team has taken to heart. The Lancers currently boast a 5-1 record with multiple shutdowns of their opponents. Week 6 is about to get underway, marking the start of league games and the hunt for a playoff title. This week Lakeside will face off against Paloma Valley who match their 5-1 record. The Lakeside Lancers compete in the CIF Southern Section Sunbelt League.
With student-athletes working as hard as the Lancers, a safe and supportive surface is necessary for the long daily practice hours and games. The average high school football player can spend multiple hours a day practicing on the field, which is why Lakeside High School chose Act Global synthetic turf and installation by The KYA Group. The new multipurpose field is composed of artificial grass that is designed for professional play and offers quicker recovery from fatigue, ideal balance of shock absorption and vertical deformation, and a high yarn density for player comfort. This gives the Lancer football and soccer teams a stable and long-lasting sports system.
The Lancers will be taking on Paloma Valley High School at home tomorrow night at 7:00 PM.

A recent article by Athletic Business magazine focused on the increasing prevalence of children’s mega-tournaments and the privatization of sports.
Gone are the days of Saturdays spent at the community ballpark or sports facility, sitting on metal bleachers and snacking on concessions foods. Families have traded up packed coolers for plane tickets to travel to professional-grade venues across the country.
According to a study by the Sports and Fitness Industry Association, one in five parents spends more than $1,000 per child in a month in sports activities.
Due to a decrease in the emphasis on physical education and reduction in the sampling of sports introduced to their children, parents have turned club teams for competitive sports opportunities. Increased competition has also led to increased economic opportunities for communities that build all-inclusive facilities that host youth tournaments. However, the quality of the venue is vital to its success. The modern mega facility boasts several dozen playing fields and courts, on-site hotels and dining, and easily accessible entertainment.
As parent’s expectations of sporting venues continue to rise, a professional caliber venue has become the norm. For field surfaces, high-quality synthetic turf ensures that games can be played all day, regardless of weather, leading to a smoothly run, reliable operation. Artificial grass fields are an ideal solution for growing sports communities for superior versatility, durability, playability, and safety.
Our synthetic turf is specifically designed for player safety and performance. A FIFA study shows 41% of player injuries can be related to fatigue-including sprains, fractures, bruises and abrasions, and internal organs and concussions. Our surfaces are fast under the foot and provide sufficient firmness to limit fatigue injuries to the lower extremities of the player’s body. Our surfaces are also designed to provide proper Rotational Resistance (traction) to ensure foot stability and to enable quick release of the shoes during rotation and traction movements. These safety features along with fibers embedded with maximum UV inhibitors create the highest performing sports surface system available.

Minneapolis’ multipurpose venue for major sports, music, and cultural events has been recognized by Athletic Business magazine as a pinnacle facility.
The Facility of Merit Awards are announced each October after a rotating panel of leading architects convenes to select the top 10. Selections are based on the following categories: plan efficiency; functional relationships and measures taken to maximize use of space; interior finishes, detailing and color schemes; exterior design; the relationship of building to site; and cost of construction for value received.
At 1.7 million square-feet, U.S. Bank Stadium opened in 2016 as the new home for the Minnesota Vikings and as the host for several prominent sporting events. The venue was designed on the basis of climate and culture of Minneapolis with exceptional quality and comfort for the fans that frequent the facility. The architects that created U.S. bank were exceptionally thoughtful in each design element that was implemented to be beautiful while functional. The transparent roof illuminates the interior with natural light and protects it from snow while acting as a “heat reservoir” to store solar heat and reducing energy usage by 16%.
Act Global is honored to have its brand of turf within U.S. Bank, a venue that was conscientiously crafted in each detail. Act Global synthetic turf is engineered and tested to offer a superior playing surface for players, as proven by a variety of benchmark tests and quality and durability checks.
3 of the judges from the panel gave raving remarks about the U.S. Bank Stadium:
“Monumental, striking and memorable. The sheer scale of this powerful abstract Viking form is impressive and bigger than life. Hard not to be consumed by all this facility has to offer the fan experience on game day.” — Troy Sherrard
“Dramatic design derived from a concept connecting the history of the Vikings and Nordic design to a bold and aggressive modern facility.” — Kalman Nagy
“Creative seating bowl and long-span solution. I appreciate the fresh approach to the building type. A bold form that derives from the local climate and Viking precedents.” — Stephen Sefton
Congratulation to U.S. Bank on this momentous award!
