FIFA Quality Guidelines Apply to American Football and Baseball

These benchmarks are part of the FIFA Quality Concept, which have led to safer, better performing fields.

As buyers seek similar benchmarks for American football and baseball, Act Global and testing institute Labosport put the FIFA Quality Concept up against top natural grass fields at New York Yankees spring training facility and Texas A&M. Field tests were performed to measure shock absorption, vertical deformation (foot stability), rotational resistance (traction), energy restitution (fatigue indicator) and various ball-to-surface interactions.

The study confirmed that the parameters set by the FIFA Quality Concept fall within the test results at both facilities.
