CCB Centre for Sporting Excellence is a young facility that opened in 2014 in Ystrad Mynach, Wales.  Opened with the help of the Welsh Rugby Union, the facility is home to the Dragons and features a FIFA 2 star 3G rugby field.

The Dragons are one of four professional teams in Wales and represent the South-East region of the country within the Pro14 league.  The team is halfway through the 2018-2018 season and is competing in Conference B against 6 other teams.  The Dragons have another four months of competition to reach one of the top seven positions in the league and qualify for the 2018-2019 European Rugby Champions Cup.  This July, after the conclusion of the season, the Dragons will be celebrating the team’s 15th birthday since its inception in 2003 when regional rugby union teams were introduced to Wales.

The Dragons practice on a synthetic turf surface manufactured by Act Global with superior performance standards and cutting-edge technology.  The artificial grass system used by the Dragons is incredibly durable and can withstand intense use, while still protecting athletes on impact.  As a World Rugby Preferred Turf Producer, Act Global is committed to exceptional quality and safety.  Act Global’s  synthetic turf systems also meet World Rugby Quality Guidelines and are World Rugby Reg22 certified.

The Dragon’s next matchup is against Saracens Rugby Club this Saturday, January 27th.
