KS Cracovia is a football club that has roots dating back 111 years, to 1906. Football started gaining popularity in Poland in the first years of the 20th century and quickly spread throughout the country. The club received its own pitch in 1912 and won the Championship of Austrian Galicia the following year. The long history of the club itself follows the history of Poland, from which a strong spirit of patriotism and tradition have emerged.
After World War I broke out, the team continued to compete against elite teams and foster the growth of exceptional players. Throughout World War II when Nazi Germany banned sports from Polish citizens, the team competed in secret championships of the city to preserve the spirit of the game. In the years following to the end of the 20th century, the team retained many faithful supporters that allowed the club to continue to develop.
Today the club competes in the Europa League, which Cracovia qualified in 2016 for the first time in the club’s history. The team recently updated their training center at Krakow city center to Act Global’s Xtreme Turf. This artificial grass system has a proven history of durability, safety, and performance, backed by extensive testing and R&D efforts. Because the team spends many hours each week on their training field, it is vital that the playing surface is strong, consistent, and stable. The Act Global synthetic turf system is engineered for football teams with playability components that help athletes perform their best.

Nestled in central Massachusetts, Marlborough is a quaint town with a rich history that dates back to 1657. The town has grown from a small New England settlement into a center for high-technology industries. Marlborough High School is the main 9-12 grade educational facility in the town and serves just over 1000 students each year. The school is committed to 21st-century learning with an emphasis on academic, social, and civic expectations. Act Global recently finished working with the high school to install a new synthetic turf baseball and soccer field for the Marlborough Panthers.
The Marlborough Panthers baseball team has proven itself as an esteemed program by earning winning multiple prominent championships within the local community. Throughout its history, the Panthers became league champions in 1984, 1986, 1987, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2010, and 2012, in addition to being central Massachusetts champions and state championship finalists in 2003. The Panther soccer team performed exceptionally well in the 2017 season, ending the season at the 7th ranked team in the state and a winning 19-2 record. The Panthers went all the way to the semifinals before an upsetting defeat by one point that kept the team from competing for the championship title.
The new synthetic baseball and soccer turf will be a consistent and safe surface that will allow the Panthers to perform at their peal. Act Global artificial grass is engineered and tested with proven technology to remove bad hops, supply extreme durability, and provide excellent drainage. Each of these factors means that the teams can practice harder and for more hours a week without the constant disruptions of rest time and maintenance. The synthetic turf system offers many practical benefits that make it the superior surface choice, while also providing a stunningly aesthetic pitch that will remain beautiful regardless of the weather or season.
Good luck to the Marlborough Panthers going into the 2018 season!

The 2018 Super Bowl is scheduled for Sunday, February 8, 2018, and will be played at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The Minnesota Vikings have played with extra heart this season, competing for the opportunity to win their first Super Bowl at their home stadium. Currently, the Vikings are ranked 3rd and 4th, depending on the source, placing them in a good position to earn a spot in the playoffs.
After the Vikings’ win on December 3rd against the Falcons, the Vikings were tied for the NFL’s best record through 12 games and held the number one seed in the NFC. The Vikings lost to the Panthers this past weekend in North Carolina- the team’s third loss in the regular season.

Post-season college football is upon us with bowl games kicking off this weekend. A total of 40 bowl games will lead to the final event of the 2017 NCAA Division I FBS football season: the 2018 College Football National Championship. This year’s competition will be extra fierce, as this is only the second time in the past 9 years where no teams with losing seasons have been invited to compete. Act Global is excited to have teams from across the nation competing on our synthetic turf systems in the coming month.
December 16: New Orleans Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Superdome
The 9-4 North Texas Mean Green will face off against the 10-2 Troy Trojans at 12:00 PM CST, December 16. North Texas currently ranks #19 in the nation for their offense, with 467 yards per game. However, even though Troy ranks #26 in defense, a stronger defensive line tends to be a key indicator of who will be the winner. The old Sunbelt Conference foes haven’t met since 2012, which UNT’s final year in the conference where Troy earned an 8-2 edge over UNT.
December 24: Hawaii Bowl at Aloha Stadium
The Fresno State Bulldogs (9-4) and Houston Cougars (7-4) will travel to Honolulu, Hawaii for their postseason matchup at 7:30 PM CST on December 24. The Cougars have performed well this season after losing their former head coach, including games against Power 5 teams. The Bulldogs have heavily relied on defense throughout the season, and this will continue to be true going into the postseason. This month’s match will be Fresno State’s first bowl game since 2014, where they lost to take their record to 10-13, whereas Houston has competed in a bowl in each of the past five straight seasons and hold an 11-13 record.
January 1: Sugar Bowl at Mercedes-Benz Superdome
The Superdome will be hosting its second bowl game of the post on January 1st at 7:45 PM CST. The semifinal match in the college football playoffs will pin #4 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide against #1 ranked Clemson Tigers. Not only will the teams be competing for a spot in the championship, but the game will act as a rematch for Alabama after last year’s upsetting defeat by Clemson. Although the game is just under three weeks away, there have been predictions of Alabama earning a narrow victory and therefore justifying the committee’s decision to place Alabama in the final playoff position.
About Mercedes-Benz Superdome’s Turf Surface:
The synthetic turf manufactured and installed by Act Global is new for this season and was placed within the Superdome in August. The surface is engineered and tested to offer a superior playing surface for the players, proven through methodology including a wide range of quality and durability checks, biomechanical measurements, and surface testing.
About Aloha Stadium’s Turf Surface:
Our brand of synthetic turf has been the system of choice for Aloha Stadium since 2011. The artificial grass continues to perform exceptionally well under heavy use and exposure to the elements in the outdoor stadium.
