Bronxville Union Free School District just upgraded their multipurpose field to Act Global synthetic turf.
The square-mile suburb outside of New York City is nationally recognized for excellence in academics and extracurricular activities. Not only was the high school ranked #5 overall in the country by Newsweek, but the town is known to attract successful artists looking to settle down.
The new artificial grass field will be a center point of athletics for the 1600 students enrolled at the high school. The synthetic turf system will be utilized by both the football teams, the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams, and the soccer teams. The extensively engineered surface is unmatched in durability, meaning that each of the Broncos teams will have a consistent playing surface. The Saturday morning game between the Army Black Knights and Tulane’s Green Wave was held at Yulman Stadium in New Orleans, Louisiana. Both teams were hoping to recover from losing the previous weekend to more talented teams. In the end, predictions placing Tulane on top proved to be correct when the Green wave beat out the Black Nights 21-17.
The game was close and Army held the lead for most of the second, third, and fourth quarter. In the last 30 seconds, Tulane scored a touchdown that put them at a four-point lead over the Black Nights. With such a small amount of time left on the clock, Army did not have time to recover.
Yulman Stadium had its grand opening in 2014 with a home opener for Tulane against former rival Georgia Tech. The game sold out all 30,000 seats. Previous to the opening of Yulman, Tulane shared a home stadium with the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. When choosing the new synthetic turf surface for Yulman, Tulane chose to keep the same trusted surface that was used installed in the Superdome. Truman State University has held the standing as the top public university in the Midwest for the past 21 years. The highly selective liberal arts and sciences university has selected Act Global’s artificial grass as the playing surface for the Bulldog football team.
The synthetic turf used to create the Bulldog’s new field has been specifically engineered for maximum player safety and performance. This has been proven through laboratory tests as well and benchmarks against top natural grass facilities. This means that the Truman State Bulldogs now have a top-quality surface that is designed for professional play and will aid in quicker recovery from fatigue. We are grateful to our partners at Midwest Synthetic Turf Professionals for their exceptional work on this installation.
The team will be remaining in Kirksville, Missouri this weekend for their first game of the 2017 season at Stokes Stadium. The Bulldogs will be facing off against Missouri S&T Miners. The first two games of the season the ended with an upset for the Bulldogs, so we hope their homecoming on their new turf field will result in a win for the team!
