How Lisport Machines Help Field Playability

How Lisport Machines Help Field Playability

Long lasting fields are a huge investment to players across the world. Many organizations are switching to a synthetic field system from natural grass because of how a synthetic turf sports surface is engineered. It is designed to have the correct sports properties, provide comfort and safety to the players, withstand a range of often harsh climatic conditions and be sufficiently durable to perform for eight to ten years.

Lisport machines mimic the effect that cleats have on synthetic turf surfaces and simulates any wear that may occur. From this information, we can accurately predict how long a turf field is projected to last before the fibers begin to break down. Act Global’s monofilament and slit film products are top in the industry and are built to outperform and outlast.

Field testing allows us to understand the factors that are involved in a field’s playability. These include:

  • Ball rebound
  • Shock absorption
  • Deformation
  • Ball roll
  • Rotational resistance
  • Skin friction

Act Global continues to innovate more to protect and keep athletes safe!

Owasso High School Upgrades By General Sports Surfaces

Owasso High School Upgrades By General Sports Surfaces

In May it was announced that Owasso High School would be resurfacing its football and baseball fields to feature new artificial grass. Both fields are a serious upgrade for the school, which was relying on old synthetic turf and natural grass for its playing surfaces. Stigall Field, the district’s home turf for baseball games will be re-outfitted a specialized baseball system from Act Global known as Real Play Technology. Real Play Technology is only available on Xtreme Turf systems and is shown to remove unnatural ball roll and bounce.

The design of the new football field came from the inspiration of the stadium’s press box and the team’s uniforms. The midfield logo even matches the ram visible on the school’s wellness facility exteriors.

With the completion of these fields, construction continues to face-lift the high school’s softball field, an indoor practice field, and a multipurpose field.

This installation is being completed by our partner, General Sports Surfaces. The teams at General Sports Surfaces are experts in high-quality sports construction and turn-key services.
